I want to write again
December 27, 2008 — Florent ClairambaultHello guys,
I intend to use my crappy english to write about the stuff I’ve been working and playing on. So, I think I will post some new articles soon.
And why do I suddently write in english ? Well, I’d like to train my self. I have a very good understanding english level, but I’m somehow quite limited when I have to speak or write in english.
You can post comments to help me improve my english level.

I am newbie to tc65 module and I found your website very helpful.I want to thank to you for that first.
My question is about rs232 comm. I want to use only 3 wires( tx,rx and gnd ) for communication with embedded device.I did some comm with pc terminal using serial laplink cable successfully ( 115200 , 8,1,n without flow control ) ,
but when used 3 wires I cannot receive any message from terminal software on pc.I saw some posts regarding to rs232 comm with MES and not functional with 3 wire.
What is your suggestion?
With my Best Regards.

Well, you have to connect the other modem wires to use MES. You can also try to use TC65SH or JObexFTP tools, I don’t think they don’t have the 3 wires limitation. I’m only using a RS232 with all the wires so I can’t really tell you if it works.
And, you also do everything using OTAP.

Thanks for your prompt answer. But there is a misunderstanding. My problem is not about using MES. I am using MES to program module. After I programmed the module , I want to connect a gps module and read position data .GPS module has
3 wire ?? I decided to emulate this scenerio with a Pc ( used only 3 wire , sending GPS sentences to tc65 ).For What RS232 port on module is used for ? Only programming , an not for connecting external device like gps …etc.
I tried to clearify situation.
Thanks again .

Ok yes. On ASC0, RTS and CTS are enabled by default. I should add this to the TC65 FAQ.
